What is Time for a Cause?
Time for a Cause is a unique fundraising event combining volunteering and giving. You can bid on exclusive items and experiences online and pay using cash, volunteer hours (valued at $25/hour), or a combination of both.
When and where is the event?
The event takes place at the historic Church Studio. The celebration peaks at 6:30 pm, including complimentary refreshments, snacks, and valet parking.
Who will attend the event?
The event is hosted by NextGen United and is open to NextGen members, Tocqueville Society members, and guests of Tulsa Area United Way friends and family.
Do I have to attend the event to participate in the auction?
No, you can participate in the online auction before and during the event even if you are unable to attend. However, there will be exclusive auction items only available to guests attending the in-person event, as well as a limited number of items with a “buy it now” option.
How does bidding with volunteer hours work?
If you win an item, you can “pay” with volunteer hours valued at $25/hour, cash, or a combination of both. You will connect with local nonprofit partners to fulfill volunteer hours.

How do I use the online auction platform?
- Create an account or log-in if you’ve bid on TAUW auction items before.
- Start bidding!
- When you win, you’ll have the choice to pay with cash, volunteer time at a value of $25/hour, or a combination of the two.
Are there items I can purchase directly without bidding?
Yes, a special selection of set-price items will be available for immediate purchase during the reception. Be sure to note any special requirements such as event dates or payment restrictions like “cash only.”
